My name is Mia Oramous (rhymes with “famous”), owner and main instructor at Transform NOLA.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. I never had a problem with being in shape until I moved to New Orleans.
The food and culture was so different and so amazing that I couldn’t help but to take part! So I ate and drank, ate and drank, until lo and behold: I had gained 50 pounds! And that, folks, is before I got pregnant!
I had to make some fairly big lifestyle changes to get rid of the really big me. I swapped the booze for water, ate more fruits and vegetables, and stayed active by walking and doing pool exercise. I also took up yoga and pilates which worked my core in a way I never experienced before. Now I feel stronger (and certainly better) than I did in my 20s and 30s!
Like everyone, the challenges in my life have been numerous. I am a mother, daughter, sister and friend. I’ve faced many personal challenges in my life. I lost my father as a child, left home at 17, and survived domestic abuse. I’ve cared for aging parents and overcome financial challenges. I left my corporate job in order to help people find their inner strength and overcome whatever they are facing. Being a part of someone’s effort to change is extremely rewarding – I look forward to helping you in your transformation. If you want to learn more about the studio or its services, please contact me.
